Seatrium has lined up an FPSO integration deal with SBM Offshore, enabling it to play a role in powering upcoming energy projects in South America.
Netherlands-based SBM Offshore, a provider of the design, construction, installation, and operation of offshore floating facilities, has hired Singapore’s Seatrium to handle a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) integration project slated to support offshore developments in South America. This assignment, which is worth more than S$200 million ($156.52 million), will see Seatrium take charge of complex vessel modifications, module integration, and pre-commissioning work.
Seatrium has secured what it describes as a major FPSO integration contract award with SBM Offshore, which reinforces the duo’s longstanding partnership. This FPSO will support offshore developments in South America.
The Singapore player’s scope of work comprises the fabrication of key mooring and riser support structures, flare tower, and associated topside support structures, vessel modification and drydocking activities, as well as the integration of topside modules.
In addition, the company’s assignment encompasses mechanical completion activities, selected pre-commissioning works, and support for commissioning and sea trials.
The project execution is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with completion scheduled for 2029. Seatrium underlines that this award reflects the continued confidence placed in its offshore engineering, construction, and integration capabilities.
"This award reinforces our longstanding partnership with SBM Offshore and reflects the strength of our proven execution capabilities across complex FPSO projects. Leveraging the experience and lessons learned from previous projects, together with our engineering expertise and established track record of delivery with certainty, we are proud to support South America's offshore development and its growing role in global energy supply, contributing to greater energy security and long-term economic growth."
