Russia has resumed diesel export loadings from the Baltic port of Primorsk following an agreement between Washington and Moscow to supply fuel to global markets, LSEG data showed.
According to the shipping data, a tanker carrying around 40,000 tonnes of ultra-low sulphur diesel was loaded on October 13 and is heading towards Morocco.
Last week, US President Donald Trump said Russia had agreed to supply diesel to global markets in an effort to lower fuel prices, and his administration temporarily lifted US sanctions on Russian fuel.
Russia, which partially lifted a ban on diesel exports from October 10 following the agreement, will be able to increase diesel exports to between three million tonnes and 3.5 million tonnes per month by year-end, the country's usual export volume of the fuel, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Monday.
Russia had originally set the export ban until July this year before extending it further until the end of January 2027.
