This offshore engineering contract enables KBR to support Aramco’s field development program off the coast of Saudi Arabia.

U.S.-headquartered science, technology, and engineering player KBR has secured a new assignment with Saudi energy giant Aramco for an oil and gas field in the Arabian Gulf off the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia.

KBR has been selected by Aramco to support the upgrade of facilities across the Marjan offshore project in the Arabian Gulf by providing engineering and project execution services to support key offshore processing, gas compression, and power infrastructure facilities within the field.

The U.S. player explains that this project is expected to maintain the Marjan field's production capacity through recent field developments, help advance associated gas processing capabilities, and strengthen the long-term performance of critical offshore assets through the integration of digital technologies, automation, and power system enhancements.

Jay Ibrahim, President of Sustainable Technology Solutions at KBR, commented: "For KBR, this award reflects our long project execution relationship with Aramco. By combining our deep offshore engineering expertise with advanced automation and digital integration, we aim to help achieve Aramco’s expectations."

The engineering work is expected to be executed primarily from KBR's Houston and Al-Khobar offices, leveraging the company's decades of experience delivering complex offshore energy infrastructure projects in the Middle East and around the world.

The Marjan oil and gas field, operated by Aramco, has undergone multibillion-dollar expansions designed to maintain a crude production capacity of approximately 800,000 barrels per day while significantly boosting associated gas processing.
